Spring Mindset Reset - It's All Working Out.
How would your life be different if your dominant thought every day was, "everything is always working out for me?”
"Um Erin...Everything is very clearly not working out for me, I mean Coronavirus, my job, money is tight, food is scarce, systemic racism, economic injustice…"
I am sorry for the struggle. I am.
And I'm curious how a mindset of fear, worry, or lack will improve the situation?
It won't. It can only make it worse.
Choosing different thoughts is a discipline, a skill that can be learned.
We've all met people who, even in rough circumstances, left us feeling better and more hopeful just by their faith, their attitude, and their words. Dr. King springs to mind.
We admire people like him. So why not do the work to become one - even in the struggle?
The funny thing is, I heard this little phrase during a meditation led by a New Age thought leader.
Sometimes, Christians are quick to dismiss wisdom when it comes wrapped in a different package, and that's a shame because meditating on this phrase changed my day.
I was happier, more regulated, more hopeful, and more patient as things went wrong, simply because I chose to believe, no matter what, it's all working out.
BTW - The same idea is found in Romans 8:28
"For we know God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes." - The Apostle Paul.
It's a powerful choice to say: Man, this looks rough, and I have no idea how it will ALL work out for my good, but I choose to believe it will.
Try it and see if it changes your day.
