SMR Day Eleven - Get Back On.

Yesterday was a super off day for me and several of my clients. Other than the obvious explanations, I didn’t have much of an explanation.

Here’s my motto for days like that. Ready?

So what? Now what?

There’s no sense dragging what happened yesterday into today, though we do it all the time. Wake up sleeper. God’s mercy is new every morning. In other words,

“Ok you fell off, so what? Get back on your horse."

In my 40+ year equine career, I’ve been thrown off, bucked off, fallen on, and landed hard. If I wasn't bleeding or broken, the advice was always the same - Get back on.

So what yesterday was janky? Who cares. Today is new.

Maybe getting back on YOUR horse today means tightening up the rituals you rely on to keep your priorities straight. Upon reflection, here is a list of my rituals that slipped this week:

Meditating.
Gratitude journal.
Brag book.
Washing my face before bed. (I know. I know)
Stretching.
Worshipping God loudly.
Praying.
Doing mindset work.
Scrubbing the kitchen sink.
Flossing.

All those things are good for me, they help me stay focused. All of them were out the window by Tuesday.

Is that why I feel janky? Probably, but I’m 100% responsible for how I show up to my life regardless of setbacks or struggles.

So are you.

Don’t wait for the world to line up so you can live the way you intend. It won’t.

#Covid #BlackLivesMatter #HurricaneSeason are front and center realities that aren’t going away. Stop waiting for them to, so you can do your work unmolested.

Horses buck. It happens. Get back on.
