The Portal or the Hole?
My favorite yoga class happened online for the first time yesterday morning. There we were, same teacher, same pals, all virtually gathered on mats in our living rooms.
It was perfect.
Before we started though, our leader Stacy read some words written by White Eagle, a Hopi Elder.
"This moment humanity is going through can now be seen as a portal and as a hole. The decision to fall into the hole or go through the portal is up to you. If they repent of the problem and consume the news 24 hours a day, with little energy, nervous all the time, with pessimism, they fall into the hole. But if you take this opportunity to look at yourself, rethink life and death, take care of yourself and others, you will cross the portal.” -White Eagle
An hour later, I hosted nine women in my zoom room for the third Coronavirus Family Gathering in as many weeks.
I taught for a few minutes on fear and told them about the portal and the hole.
The choice is simple, but not easy.
Each of us will move our feet in some direction today. We will encounter others and influence them, either consciously or unconsciously.
How will you do it today?
Collapsing into the fear, watching the news on a loop, waiting to see how things shake out before making a choice or a move, that’s the hole.
But the portal invites us to trust our moment by moment intuition. It dares us to make moves in our lives and businesses while the dust is far from settled. It summons us to wake up to all the things that weren’t working before and make things that do.
The portal is all darkness and risk and magic and faith. It guarantees no safety, no comfort only transformation.
What we are on the other side of this depends on how we act now. Hole or portal? Your choice.
