Don Your Princess Dress Daily

Lately, I've been having princess fantasies - ones where I'm the princess. I'm moving through a room wearing a long, thick velvet robe, a red one, lined with purple satin. A collar of emeralds and rubies fixes it around my shoulders and it sways behind me, grazing the floor as I walk. I'm most certainly wearing a crown and matching ruby slippers.

This is not just a fun mental fashion project - it is the truth about me, and keeping the picture top of mind, changes the way I show up for things.

If you're a woman in search of purpose, and you're around me much, you've probably had me up in your face once or twice strongly challenging something you've said about yourself. Especially things like:

I'm not capable.
I'm not smart enough.
I'm a hot mess.
I'm too shy/nervous/stupid/complicated/troublesome

Ladies listen to me.

If you accept that Jesus is who he says he is and you are seeking God like your life depends on it, why do you contradict Him when he says you are his child? Stop talking back to the creator of the universe. Plus, if Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and he and the father are one, what does that make you?

A Daughter of the Most High King. A Princess.

Consider for a moment, how your life would look if you showed up everywhere with a deep awareness of your royal identity?

What deals would you reject?
What words would come from your mouth?
What words wouldn't?
What would you believe was possible for you and your family?
How would you use your incredible leverage to change the world?

People love Princess Kate for a thousand reasons, but mostly because she's classy, kind, invested, beautiful, and a powerful ambassador for the Royal Family. Princess Kate absolutely operates in her authority.

It's a choice that is in no way dependent on your current circumstances. I know this because Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, regularly imagined speaking before crowds of thousands while he was being tortured and starved by the Nazis.

So why not reject all that "complicated hot mess" blather the world has conditioned you to say, and don your princess dress - the one your Father who loves you gave to you. Live out of that reality for a while and see if it doesn't change how you walk into a room - and what you do when you get there.
